Outline
To provide a proactive human resources service and advice to the Power Systems division to ensure the effective implementation of HR policies and processes, and to deliver a timely and efficient HR service as required by the division to meet their strategic objectives

Main Duties

  • Work as a member of the functional and Divisional leadership teams in order to mutually establish HR priorities and expectations so that support activities can be aligned to the business requirements of the division.
  • Work in association with internal customers and other service providers to deliver timely and efficient HR services. Key areas for advice / support include recruitment, organisational review, employee relations, redundancy, performance management and salary / contracts administration and provision of HR database information services (Infinium).
  • Maintain a personal level of awareness of developments within the identified fields of expertise so that Finning's HR processes and procedures constantly reflect best practice
  • Monitor identified HR processes and procedures and make amendments where necessary to ensure that any potential opportunities are identified and realised.
  • Maintain a high level of internal communication so that the division has a full understanding and commitment to HR processes and policies and to ensure that HR activities are effectively integrated with divisional operational activities
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure that HR processes are effectively implemented and services delivered in line with HR and divisional business objectives. To set and monitor progress against specific targets and ensure that subordinates have clarity concerning performance expectations, have the required skills, knowledge and competencies to do the job and that the appropriate training and development plans are in place.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Bill 198 processes are consistently adhered to as documented, including adequate Segregation of Duties, that changes are identified and documented with consideration for Bill 198 requirements.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Graduate (hons).
  • Chartered Corporate Membership of the CIPD (preferable).
  • Generalist HR management experience of 5 yrs + including recruitment and employee relations.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build effective relationships quickly.
  • Good skills in processing and analysing data.
  • IT literate: MS Outlook, Word, Excel,
  • PowerPoint and HR information systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Persuasive and assertive to operate in all areas of the business.
