Management Team Biographies

Kevin Parkes - Managing Director Kevin Parkes Kevin worked for Power, Marine and Caterpillar equipment dealer, Finning UK for over 12 years. His experience in Finning involved all aspects of the UK business including construction and used and rental equipment which has given him an excellent insight into the UK construction and used equipment markets.

Kevin joined Hewden in October 2008 as general manager, operations and has overseen a restructuring of both operations and sales and an improvement in operational and financial performance. He currently holds the position of Managing Director.

Kevin has a BA in Business Administration from Staffordshire University.

Susan Shardlow - Head of Commercial Susan Shardlow Susan worked in the Finning Group for 20 years with the last 8 spent in Hewden. Her experience ranges across all aspects of the financial and commercial operations of the Business. Having recently overseen the restructuring of the finance teams, her current role includes responsibility for the provision of management information, budgeting and forecasting and asset management of the rental fleet.

Prior to joining Finning, Susan spent 9 years in Internal Audit at British Coal.

Susan is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and of the Institute of Directors.

Jeff Schofield - Head of Sales and Marketing Jeff Schofield Jeff has worked for Hewden for 24 years. Working up from depot manager, through regional operations positions in Hewden and head of group marketing for Finning before being made head of sales and marketing for Hewden. Prior to joining Hewden Jeff held positions in a number of UK plant companies.

Jeff has a Diploma in Marketing and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Mark Hogg - General Manager of Operations Mark Hogg Mark worked with Finning Group for 10 years in a wide range of roles including Construction, Power Systems and Materials Handling. Mark has been General Manager of operations for the past year.

Prior to joining Finning, Mark worked for A-Plant part of the Ashtead Group.

Mark holds a BA (Hons) in accounting and finance and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Andrew Swallow - General Manager of Operations Andrew Swallow Andrew has worked for Hewden since 2002 and held a number of positions including head of accommodation before before becoming General Manager of operations.

Prior to joining Hewden, Andrew was a director of plant operations at Maxxiom (a joint venture between Carillion and P&O). Andrew started his career in the construction industry with Fairclough Construction before moving into the hire industry.

Mark Hierons - Head of Industrial Mark Hierons Mark has worked for Hewden since 1997 and has held a number of senior roles with operations including Head of Power, Head of Cranes and various regional management positions.

Currently Mark heads up the industrial division in Hewden who support some of the worlds largest blue chip companies and most complex industrial locations across the UK as well as supplying the contracting companies that operate within the industrial sector.
