Hewden receives industry award in recognition of its Movex training programme, introduced to support the roll-out of the company’s £14m IT system in July this year. Held this year at the Holland House Hotel, Cardiff on Saturday 13th October, the awards celebrated best practice in all areas of the hire industry across Europe.

Shout About Noise

Hewden was hailed at the PR Week Awards 2007 for its excellent work in communicating the Control of Noise at Work regulations - winning the Best Marketing Communications: Business Award. Held this year at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on Wednesday 24th October, the awards celebrated best practice in all areas of the UK communications industry.

Martin Williams, Environmental Health and Safety Manager, has been short-listed for the Future Leaders in Construction Award. This award recognises the potential of individuals to shape and transform tomorrow's construction industry. Martin is one of 30 people to be short-listed and the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony within the County Hall at London's South Bank on 23rd March.

The prestigious Specialists in Construction Awards are now in their third year. Designed to recognise the critical role that specialist contractors play within the construction industry, these fiercely competitive awards attract over 100 entries from the industry's most successful specialists.

The awards will take place at the London Hilton Hotel on May 10th 2007, with more than 650 people in attendance to celebrate best practice across 13 different specialist categories. The final award of the evening - sponsored by Hewden - will be presented to the company which demonstrates 'exceptional performance' from any of the specialist disciplines.

Throughout the past five years at Hewden, more women then ever have not only joined the organisation, but prospered (14% are now female) in a male dominated workplace, with a male dominated stakeholder group.

One great example of a successful woman in Construction is Hewden Regional Sales Manager, Suzanne Cathro. Following exceptional performance, Suzanne has worked her way up in Hewden to her current position. She is and remains the most senior female salesperson within Hewden.

INEOS Scotland Safety Awards Best Market Research 2006 (shortlisted)
There are over 60 contractors based on the INEOS site - formerly the BP refinery - and all of them were marked across 14 criteria. In order to receive their award, Hewden Services in Grangemouth had to attain at least silver status across 14 criteria, a demonstration of the rigorous safety standards set by INEOS.

"These are the levels of safety that we promote across the whole business," said Tom Corrigan, Head of Safety & Quality Services at Hewden. "The Grangemouth site is as potentially a dangerous site as any we have and therefore, as you’d expect, the standards of safety are extremely high. This award demonstrates the importance Hewden puts on safety and shows that as a company we are getting it right."

Hewden Research Programme: Research into Marketing Messages and Communications Channels
The Marketing Research organisation, TARP, a leading customer experience research consultancy, was commissioned by Hewden, the No. 1 equipment rental company in the UK, to undertake a programme of Market Research into Marketing Messages and Communications Channels among its customers.

The results informed the Sales and Marketing strategy for 2007 with a strong focus on customer needs around Reliability, Availability and Proactive Contact.
