Hewden, the UK's number one plant hirer has today announced a £1m contract with Cormac, the term maintenance contractor for Cornwall County Council

The deal will see Hewden supply Cormac with a full range of medium and heavy plant equipment within West Cornwall and represents a significant step into the public sector.

Paul Atkins, National Accounts Manager at Hewden said: ."The initial contract is for one year, but we are focusing on the bigger picture. There's a growing trend for long-term partnership agreements between suppliers and customers because it makes good business sense. Increasingly, customers find that dealing with one supplier makes managing their fleet simpler and more cost effective."

The equipment, which is already in action, is being used on a number of applications including highway maintenance and improvement programmes around the West Cornwall area.
