Hewden Boosts its fleet with £10m telehandler investment

Hewden, the UK's largest plant hirer has today announced its investment of more than £10m to introduce 283 of the latest TH Series CAT telehandlers to its already impressive fleet. The new additions, which will be available for hire from March, will take the total size of Hewden's telehandler fleet to 2,600 units.

The TH Series, introduced by JLG as part of its strategic alliance with Caterpillar, has a range of six machines from 2,500kg rated capacity and 5.5m of lift height, to 4,000kg rated capacity and 17m of lift height.

Alan Huddart, General Manager of Product and Pricing at Hewden said:
"This investment signals our intention to grow our plant hire business in the UK. We want to make the biggest, youngest, and most reliable fleet of machines available to our customers."

"CAT has been around for more than 80 years. It's a brand that people know and trust, and one that signifies power, performance, ease of operation and operator comfort. This latest range is no exception."

As a result of extensive research and development, the new TH Series benefits from improved ergonomics, meaning a smoother and more comfortable ride for the operator. In addition, the entire range is fully equipped with CAT's new high power, low emission engines, designed to reduce environmental impact without jeopardising performance.

Maurizio Risso, Director, EAME Market Development and Sales at the Caterpillar Alliance Group, said:
"This deal demonstrates Hewden's continued faith in the new Caterpillar telehandlers. In fact Hewden is the first to order the new range of CAT telehandlers."
