Hewden, the UK’s largest plant hirer has raised £637 for construction charity The Lighthouse club by holding a 'grand balloon draw' at its annual End of Year Sales Conference held at the Warwick Hilton Hotel on the 11th December.

More than £600 worth of donated prizes where up for grabs at the event which brought together more than her 140 members of staff from across the business.

The money raised will help the charity continue its ongoing work to provide financial support for the families of construction workers injured or killed in the line of work.

Mike Penn, Sales and Marketing Director at Hewden said: "The Lighthouse Club is such a worthy charity. Whilst as an industry we try to ensure construction is as safe as possible, we need to be realistic and appreciate that accidents happen. What this charity has successfully done for 50 years is ease the financial burden so often associated with such tragedies."
