Hewden, the UK's largest plant hirer, has produced an easy to read environmental poster as part of its "Green Boots" campaign launched earlier this year.

The eye catching poster, which can be displayed on site, provides a number of top-tips for contractors who want to become more environmentally responsible. It also gives contact details for third party organisations that provide free impartial advice and environmental services for recycling, carbon reduction, legislation and energy saving initiatives.

Martin Williams, Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Hewden said: "The construction industry has the opportunity to massively reduce the impact it has on the environment. This poster guide doesn't have all the answers, but it's a step in the right direction for companies trying to reduce their environmental footprint. By no means does Hewden claim to be perfect, but our efforts show enormous improvements in our own green credentials. If every construction company followed suit, the positive impact would be significant."
