Hewden, the UK's number one equipment rental provider, has passed a significant health and safety milestone, with its 2,000 plus-strong workforce notching up two million hours without a single reportable Lost Time Incident (LTI) occurring.
Furthermore, Hewden, which operates from 102 depots nationwide, reports that seven million working hours have now passed without there being a lost time incident caused by a motor vehicle accident (MVA).
"Reaching this milestone is a fantastic achievement for Hewden and is a big boost not only for us but also for our customers" says Tom Corrigan, Head of Safety and Quality Services at Hewden.
"It shows that our efforts to ensure health and safety permeates throughout the entire company have paid off and our customers can be reassured that their safety is as important to us as it is them," continues Corrigan.
Hewden's internal health and safety programme includes regular monthly EH&S meetings between senior management and heads of business and an ongoing training schedule for managers in the use of Hewden's Safety Management System.
