Children at a Stourport primary school, Wilden All Saints now have their outdoor education area restored to its former glory, thanks to local plant hire company, Hewden.

A 9-strong team of volunteers dug, painted and pruned the whole day through to give the "outdoor classroom" a much needed makeover, helping transform the area in to a bright and stimulating environment for the children to learn in.

Head teacher, Joy White added, "Our outdoor area, which we use for teaching the children in a natural environment had become slightly dilapidated over the years. The Hewden team had no hesitation in offering to help and as a result, the children now have a fantastic all-weather facility."

"We are so grateful to the team for giving us their time. We really couldn't have done it without them."

Area operations manager for Hewden, Alex Gadd said, "As a national company, we believe that it's important to give something back to the local communities in which we work. Our people are encouraged to get involved wherever they can, so when Wilden asked for some help, we had no shortage of local volunteers offering their time for free."

Hewden has just published its corporate social responsibility report accompanied by a new brochure that outlines the company's environmental, health and safety and sustainability principles as well as its commitment to its employees and the wider community.
