Rugby youngsters win a training session with the pros

Lucky competition winners West Park RFU St Helens had a training session with a difference recently as players from Aviva Premiership rugby club, Sale Sharks, put them through their paces at the Sharks' state of the art facilities in Carrington.

The group of under 12's was chosen at random after entering a competition from Manchester-based plant and equipment hire specialist, Hewden, an official partner of the Sharks.

The training session provided the squad with the rare opportunity to learn from professionals including flanker Onosa'i Auva'a and hooker Tommy Taylor.

After picking up specialist advice on tackling technique and continuity, the youngsters took part in a Q&A session with the players, followed by a tour of the training ground.
