Apprentice Training

The Hewden Apprenticeship Programme includes time at college as well as periods based in the depot or on site with members of the Service Team implementing the theory covered in class. This will allow you to put into practice the knowledge you have acquired at college and to consolidate your learning. Under supervision, you will gain an insight into how equipment is serviced and how the Service Team operates. All new apprentices are provided with a Personal Work Record upon commencement of their apprenticeship which assists you with collating the necessary evidence for your N/SVQ qualifications allowing you to see the skills you have developed over the years.

College

The college element of the training is undertaken on a ‘block release’ basis of modules lasting up to ten weeks at a time over a period of two years (three years if you continue to N/SVQ level 3). Please note that those apprentices who do not stay within travelling distance of the selected colleges will be required to stay over in fully paid accommodation for the duration of their block release.

All training and related expenses are covered by Hewden and the CITB, and include college course fees, accommodation and travel expenses.

Some of the colleges that Hewden use include:

All colleges are CITB approved residential colleges.
